Family Welfare Commission

The Tribal Council of the Pokagon Band established the Pokagon Band Family Welfare Commission. Whereas the care and custody of Pokagon Band children are vital to the continued existence and integrity of the Band, the welfare if its children are of paramount importance to the Band. Therefore, the Pokagon Band Family Welfare Commission has been established for the purpose of working with the Pokagon Band Tribal Council, Tribal Court, Department of Social Services, and when appropriate, state judicial and administrative bodies, with regard to child welfare matters.
