Gaming Regulatory Act

The Pokagon Band Tribal Council enacted the Pokagon Band Gaming Regulatory Act (the "Act") on February 7, 2007 and the Act was approved, as amended on May 12, 2007, by the National Indian Gaming Commission on June 1, 2007. The Act created a comprehensive gaming regulatory program and established the Pokagon Gaming Commission as an independent governmental subdivision of the Pokagon Band government. The Gaming Commission is responsible for regulating all gaming conducted within Pokagon Band jusrisidiction under the Gaming Regulatory Act, the federal Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, and the tribal-state Gaming Compact between the Band and the State of Michigan.

The Act declares it to be the public policy of the Tribe, that:
