Today is Michigan Indian Day. We honor the significant contributions that fellow Native American tribes have made in American history — particularly in the state of Michigan. We celebrate the very first peoples of Michigan and how they’ve played an irreplaceable role in the state’s history. Michigan is home to several Native American tribes — the largest of which are the Ojibwe, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi.
