Archives Open House
Join the Department of Language & Culture for the Archives Open House. We plan to share a meal with the community and bring important cultural and historical artifacts out of the archives for the public to view. In recognition of springtime and the eastern cardinal direction of the medicine wheel, this quarter's open house theme is "youth." We will be discussing traditional Potawatomi parenting practices, raising children from a traditional mindset, how assimilationist policy disrupted these practices, and how we can nation-build by revitalizing these practices. Dinner will be from 6–7 p.m., and objects will be on view from 7–9 p.m.
