Thanks to a grant from the Pokagon Fund, the Chikaming Township Police Department purchased this Res-Q-Max, as well as three others, to provide more safety for swimmers. These guns shoot an inflatable ring attached to a long rope so a swimmer in need can hold on as he or she is pulled to safety.
Officer Rob Hahn, shown demonstrating the device below, has already used it to save two people.
