Ethics Board Opening Notice

The Pokagon Band Tribal Council is seeking letters of interest from Pokagon Band citizens to serve as one of three members of the Pokagon Band Ethics Board. The Ethics Board is an instrumentality of the Pokagon Band government that was created by the Pokagon Band Code of Ethics in fulfillment of Article XVII, Section 3 of the Pokagon Band Constitution. The Ethics Board is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Code of Ethics by Pokagon Band officials and employees. The Ethics Board is expected to meet approximately once each month, depending on the needs of the Board, and will meet at additional times as may be needed to address ethics complaints and other specific matters. Ethics Board members will be expected to spend several additional hours per month preparing for Board meetings or engaged in other Ethics Board activities.

Higher Education Technology Stipend

Now Available

The purpose of the Pokagon Higher Education Technology Stipend is to support Pokagon Band members in the process of pursuing their higher education with the technology resources needed to attain a degree. The program provides financial support, on a one-time basis, up to $600 for technology needs including the purchase of the following: Laptops, Desktop computers, Software programs, Scientific Calculators, Other technology devices specific to certain degrees and professions, and Internet.

Pokagon Band Salary Commission

The Pokagon Band Tribal Council is seeking letters of interest from Pokagon Band members to fill three vacancies on the Pokagon Band Salary Commission.

APPOINTMENT PROCESS. Salary Commissioners are initially elected by the members, however, the Tribal Council is required by the Constitution to fill a vacancy by appointment for the remainder of the unexpired term. There are currently three vacant seats on the Salary Commission that will be filled by Tribal Council appointment. Of the three vacant seats, two seats have approximately two and one-half years remaining and one has approximately one and one-half years remaining.
